Our local museum’s adult evening courses have begun again and our first meeting this year took place a few days ago. We continue to be a small group (5 students) and without exception each of the 4 returning students from last year requested that we review the technical aspects of what we somewhat learned. It was our weakest point and this year our teacher is emphasizing technical aspects.
As a warm up exercise, we looked through a number of photography books and journals and had to pick out one photo or a series of photos and explain why we chose it. The book that immediately caught my eye was one on Henri Cartier-Bresson.
The photo I selected, to which my fellow students replied, we’re not surprised:
Additionally this year we’ll be creating a photo book and have a mid-year review by external mentors. It will be interesting (and somewhat terrifying).
