Entirely so. This is a self-portrait made using sonar at the recently closed “Sound and Matter in Design” exhibit at the Design Museum in Holon. (If you don’t see the featured image in this post because you are viewing it in the WPcom Reader, you’ll need to click through to see the photo.)
Here are a few more images from the exhibit. In the first photo below, the participants in the sonar image either lie or sit down on the seating while music reverberates around them and their image is projected on the ceiling. The other photos show a few of the one-of-a-kind music players/objects, some of which were final studies from graduating students at the Holon Institute of Technology.
