The above quote refers to Walker Evans returning to photograph with a large format view camera. I like to think of it as a strong reminder to all photographers to slow down and be more purposeful and mindful about what we photograph.
First released in 2007, I know I’ve extolled this BBC4 series previously. In 6, hour-long episodes, the program takes you from the beginning of photography through modern times, including interviews with historians, curators and photographers. If you can find it online, you’ll not regret the time spent.
